More about the 'contacting whanau' subject. I've bought myself a 4 band phone and now I'll only have to get a chinese sim card.

Another bonus that is happening with vodafone which is $2 for 60 minutes. I will be able to give my whanau the landline phone number (where I'll be staying) and they can ring me and speak for 60 minutes costing $2 NZD. With a Hotmail account you could start a MSN where you can type messages to each other in real time. Or perhaps you could email. Then there is Twitter. I've even found out that there is a 'translater application' for an IPOD I must look into this, although I won't need, because there's a translator link on google. Here is another link that gives more information about Chinese prefixes etc when ringing to and from China.
